MONTALLEGRO is a humanist text typeface with a breathe of Florentine air, based on the work of Renaissance man Herbert Horne for the Merrymount Press in 1904 of the same name, Montallegro attempts to bring the lightness of the press’s paper to the screen.
This type revival stays true to its original source, with serifs constructed in a distinctly bold manner without being heavy and sharp. Its lowercase is dignified, regular, and though wide in width, is well proportioned. Like a leaf falling from a tree on springtime, Montallegro brings consistency of color without being dark.
